In 2011 she was looking for a modality to support her then pre-teenage daughters as well as her horse, and she found Reiki. She has received her Level I and Level II Attunements. After practicing for a few years, she connected with a mentor to study Meditation, Mediumship, Animal Communication, and Card Readings. In 2016, Maria began teaching Meditation to the staff at Chester Academy once a week before school. The following year they hired her to meditate with students in grades 1-8 who had anxiety and attention shortages, which she enjoyed immensely. In 2017, Maria’s daughter sustained a serious concussion. After months of unsuccessful attempts to restore complete function, a friend recommended Bowenwork, and they were eager to try it. Her daughter experienced so much relief from the first session that Maria knew she wanted to become a Practitioner. Having completed 3+ years of rigorous study, hundreds of practice hours, CPR certification, and case studies, she is thrilled to be a certified Bowenwork Practitioner effective August 1, 2021. During quarantine in 2020, Maria began to study the Tarot more consistently, and felt drawn to begin doing readings. She enjoys helping clients find clarity by connecting with the cards. They are not self conscious about relaxing and releasing what no longer serves them. Some common responses indicative that healing is occurring include yawning, licking and chewing, softening of the eyes, autonomic switching, pawing, the need to urinate, and more. Clients have reported their horses feeling more supple, willing, and relaxed, even in a competitive setting. If you are coming for a Tarot reading, have some questions in mind for which you would like some direction. Maria relies on her guides and intuition to help interpret the cards. You can ask questions about your life’s journey, you can ask “yes or no” questions, “should I choose this or that” questions, as well as get answers to “when will it happen”. Reiki is performed over clothing, typically on a massage table. Sessions last 30 minutes and clients can expect relaxing music and crystals in the treatment room. Often, but not always, clients experience a relaxation that lulls them to sleep, and after the session they feel refreshed. Reiki can also be performed over an injury to promote healing.
